Ol' Trip from Earthjustice has sent me an email pertinent to our cause, maybe it's of interest:

Just weeks ago, the Bush administration issued a new rule that will allow the states of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming to begin killing the endangered gray wolves of the northern Rockies.

Earthjustice immediately filed a lawsuit to prevent the slaughter from moving forward -- but our legal team needs your support to be able to wage a sustained battle to protect the wolves.

Help us save the wolves -- Make an urgent contribution today.

The very survival of this iconic species is at risk. With a population of only 1,500 throughout the northern Rockies, there are still not enough wolves to ensure their future survival.

The administration's rule allows the states to eliminate up to 900 wolves -- a full 60% of the surviving population -- even while they are listed as endangered. What's more, the administration is poised to strip the wolves of all of their protections by the end of the month, allowing the killing of all but a mere 300 animals.

Earthjustice will not sit idly by while this tragedy plays out in the northern Rockies. We sued to block the rule -- and, with your support, we will take legal action to preserve full Endangered Species Act protections for the wolves.

Please help stop a needless slaughter. Make a special contribution today.

A drastically reduced wolf population raises the very real specter of extinction and puts the balance of a delicate mountain ecosystem at risk. You and I can't let this happen. And, with your support and our track record of success in court, we won't.

The courts are this animal's very last line of defense. Make your tax-deductible gift today to help protect the wolves and the environment they inhabit.

Thanks for all that you do.

Sincerely,

Trip Van Noppen
President, Earthjustice
